Founded by Guglielmo Marconi in April 1900 as The Marconi International Marine Communications Company Limited, we are now known as SELEX Communications Marine Division. Guglielmo Marconi carried out much of his early work at Chelmsford and on board his yacht M.V.Elettra pictured here.

SELEX Communications Marine Division is the only organisation anywhere in the world that has been continuously involved in the provision, implementation, monitoring and support of ships' radio installations since the very inception of marine radio.

Our Head Office is in Basildon, Essex, England. We have a number of Regional Offices throughout the U.K. and we have agencies worldwide. We have appointed a network of dealers throughout the UK and Eire to offer our mainstream products to mariners in their local area and we are a member of the I.S.E.S. Association, providing quality 24/7 service to the Marine Industry.
